The Supervisor, Sales Support, is responsible for assisting the Manager with all operational, and administrative processes associated with the Sales Support Team at Genomic Health Inc.  A primary responsibility of this position is to assist in developing a world class customer service department that is both focused and highly responsive to our customer needs.  In additional the Supervisor must promulgate and enforce the customer service policies and procedures of GHI in a reference lab environment.

 

The Supervisor, Sales Support, will oversee the activities of the Sales Support Specialists; participate in the development and administration of customer service policies and procedures to ensure consistent, high quality customer service and satisfaction; troubleshoot and resolve non-routine customer complaints; resolve any problems with incoming test requests, delivery dates or service and monitor our customers (internal/external) to ensure world class customer service throughout.

The Customer Relations Specialist (CRS) provides a vital link between GHI customers, the external GHI sales force and the internal commercial operations group.  The CRS will often be the first point of contact for all external parties who communicate with GHI directly via the phone, email, regular mail or other means.  There is likely to be a wide variety of questions and comments that come to the Company through these channels from a diverse group that may include health care professionals, cancer patients and their family members, media representatives, insurance company claims managers and many others.  The impressions we create when we interact with those people who seek us out will play a significant role in establishing favorable perceptions of the Company.

 

It is imperative that the CRS possess exemplary Customer Service Skills, have a demonstrated ability to work independently, and also function effectively as a member of the GHI team.  The CRS will need to understand not only the technical aspects of the services that GHI offers, but must also possess the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all individuals, including external customers and other internal GHI personnel.

The Sample Accessioning Technician provides a vital link between the GHI customers, internal customer service and the commercial operations group. The Sample Accessioning Technician is responsible for handling and recording all tissue specimens sent to Genomic Health, Inc. for testing. Part of the accessioning process involves contacting physicians and various other personnel when information is incomplete or unacceptable. During the performance of this role, there is likely to be a wide variety of questions and comments that come through these channels from a diverse group that may include health care professionals, insurance company claims managers and many others.

It is imperative that the Sample Accessioning Technician have a demonstrated ability to work independently, but also function effectively as a member of the GHI team. Attention to detail and ability to focus are imperative qualities.

In addition to the primary role of sample accessioning, there will be a need to provide back-up support to the customer service group, on an as needed basis. The Sample Accessioning Technician will need to understand not only the technical aspects of the services that GHI offers, but must also possess the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all individuals, including external customers and other internal GHI personnel. The impressions we create when we interact with those people who seek us out will play a significant role in establishing favorable perceptions of the Company and its products.

The Specimen Materials Handler provides a vital link between Genomic Health customers, Sample Accessioning Technicians and the internal laboratory and commercial operations groups. Specimen Material Handlers support the operations of the Pre-Post Accessioning Team are responsible for the following: managing new specimen kit receipt, file preparation, report shipment; material return, document management and international kit shipments. The Specimen Material Handler is also responsible for communicating with all accounts and contacts in relationship to the shipping and receiving of patient report, and specimens.

 

The Specimen Material Handler II will be trained on all aspects of the Clinical Material department and will be responsible for managing these functions according to the direction of the Lead Specimen Material Handler and the Clinical Materials Supervisor.

 

It is imperative that the Specimen Material Handler possess exemplary Customer Service and Quality Control skills, have a demonstrated ability to work independently, and also function effectively as a member of the GHI team. The Specimen Material Handler must possess the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all individuals, including external customers, laboratory, and other internal GHI personnel. The Specimen Material Handler must adhere to all compliance, HIPAA and PHI regulations and elevate potential disclosures and breaches in process immediately to the Lead Specimen Material Handler or Clinical Materials Supervisor.
