Overview

As a Human Resources Business Partner (“HRBP”) at Genomic Health, you will be based in our Redwood City, California office and report to the Associate Director, Human Resources (“AD, HR”), providing HR support to teams in the Lab Operations and Commercial organizations.  With a keen ability to navigate the organization and collaborate effectively, you will provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers in the areas of total rewards, employee relations, individual and team performance, organization design, learning & development, and other talent management programs.  We will encourage your creative ideas that support and enhance our HR initiatives, which align to our team’s vision of “Connecting culture, talent, and purpose, so people can deliver extraordinary results for our patients.”

Responsibilities

Business Partner:

  • Identify and address human resources challenges and opportunities, which may affect the execution of the business plans for Lab Operations and Commercial
  • Collaborate with the AD, HR and business leaders in the development of solutions, action plans, and measures of success, which may include developing effective structures, systems and skills to support business goals and talent requirements
  • Identify and apply tactics to ensure engagement and alignment of employees
  • Apply change management processes as appropriate to sustain collaboration and a work environment that inspires ongoing improvements and innovation
  • Participate in performance management, team development, culture/work environment survey and action planning processes
  • Participate in the corporate talent review process by communicating the talent review program, and assist in the collection data that informs future talent and skills sets to remain competitive and anticipate emerging capabilities with assigned client groups
  • Participate in various HR and/or cross-functional business projects/programs, as assigned
  • Develop business acumen to understand the industry environment

 

Employee Relations:

  • Anticipate, identify, and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues and act as an internal consultant for employees and management in these situations
  • Work with colleagues in HR, Legal, Compliance and others ensure high quality solutions consistent with GHI’s Values, federal, state and local laws
  • In collaboration with AD, HR, conduct thorough, objective investigations and provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation to clients across the organization

 

Learning and Development:

  • Identify appropriate learning and development solutions for individuals, teams, and organizations
  • Work with leaders and employees to create meaningful development and career plans and track progress

 

Talent and Total Rewards Management:

  • Collaborate with our HR Specialist Teams to assist in the communication of total rewards programs and processes for client groups

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business, HR or related field.  Must have a minimum of 5+ years of HRBP experience OR 2 years of HRBP experience and 3 years of specialty HR experience such as Compensation, OD/LD, or Employee Relations.  Prefer a HR/Industrial Relations Masters, MBA, or related graduate program and relevant industry experience.

 

Demonstrated Experience/Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in HR with working knowledge in organization design and development, total rewards, performance management, change management, talent management, team development and learning strategies and employee relations
  • Ability to establish trust and build productive relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Capable of handling conflict to mediate and influence in a positive manner
  • Open to giving and receiving constructive and positive feedback
  • Strong written and verbal communication and influence skills are required
  • Solid Project Management experience
  • Successful track record in dynamic life-science or technology environment preferred
